April 15, 2001

Wow, how time flies!  We will have been married one year next month. This month and the preceding ones have been very busy.

Elizabeth's senior piano recital was on February 8. We were able to enjoy some time with her family, my parents, and the Bencke family.  For Elizabeth's birthday we took off for the weekend in Destin, Fl, a beautiful, beachside resort town about an hour away. It was a nice time of rest and relaxation, and Monday came too early.

In March,  Elizabeth entered the Commencement Contest in Sacred Piano, playing her original arrangement of Come, Christians Join and Sing. Out of about 15 contestants, she won the alternate finalist position.

She has started her own seamstress business here on campus.  Girls are always needing formals made or altered for the Fine Arts Series, and guys are always needing pants hemmed or cuffed.  She has already made two formals and hemmed six pairs of pants so far.

I have been busy with work, my seminary class - Apologetics, in which I have a major paper due this month, in and teaching a senior Sunday School class of about 150.  I have enjoyed working on getting this web page going and am thrilled that it is finally done. I must mention that one of the biggest helps in getting this website up and running has been my good friend Todd Mein.  He has helped me out many times with the technical side of the website.  He and his wife are expecting their first child this September.  You can go check out his website at www.meinpage.com.

April has started off with a bang. I can't believe that it is already half way over!  Elizabeth graduates in less than a month, on May 9. We are looking forward to her graduation, and to seeing all those coming down for it.  Stay posted for more photos of her graduation and an update on how things are going.
